Chico, CA, Nov 5 – After a grueling primary that saw Audrey Denney emerge in a surprise win, California’s first district is yet again poised for another underdog showing tomorrow in the 2018 midterm election for house representative. On Tuesday, November 6, voters in the North State will cast a ballot to determine what the future looks like for their community. For the Denney campaign, tomorrow will be the culmination of thousands of hours of staff and volunteer work, 150,000 doors knocked and phones called, and more than 1.1 million dollars raised.
From the beginning, the Denney campaign strove to do politics differently in CA-1. They focused on running with integrity, transparency, and authenticity at the center of their operation—a message that has resonated with voters from both sides of the aisle.
“We wanted this campaign to be different. Instead of running to our partisan corners – every day we’ve brought people together around our shared common values. We’ve reminded people that we have more that unites us than divides us,” Denney said.
By concentrating on a message centered on Audrey Denney’s core belief that all humans are inherently equal in worth, dignity, and rights, a new brand of politics has taken hold in northern California, a brand that many frustrated residents have been waiting for.
“I am incredibly proud of the campaign we’ve run. We built a movement in this district of people who want to make our community a better place for everyone. Together, we cast a vision for what justice can look like in our part of the world. A world where everyone has equal access and protection under the law—man or woman, no matter who you love, the color of your skin, or amount of cash in your wallet,” Denney said.
While many areas of CA-1 have already cast their ballot via mail, the campaign believes voter turnout on November 6th will be crucial to a victory for Denney.
“The outcome of this election will come down to every single vote counted for Audrey. We need every supporter to not only vote tomorrow but to bring five of their friends and family with them to the polls. We’ve knocked as many doors and made as many phone calls as we could to reach the corners of this vast district. A victory for Audrey tomorrow depends on each one of you showing up to the polls,” said Jeremy Ellwood, Field Director for the Audrey Denney campaign.
