Chico, CA --- The grassroots-powered campaign of Audrey Denney, the congressional candidate running in a first-time bid for California’s first district, has outraised all rivals in both quarter one and the latest pre-primary reporting period in quarter two of 2018, including long-time incumbent, Doug LaMalfa. Since January 1, 2018, LaMalfa has raised $112,602, with Denney raising 51% more than the current congressman at $169,603, according to recent FEC filings.
“Once again, our small-dollar, individual contributions have outraised incumbent, Doug LaMalfa, by 67% in the latest FEC reporting period. We raised $49,058. He brought in $29,450 – most of which is PAC money,” Denney said.
Since launching her campaign in January, Denney has pledged to run without any contributions from corporate PACs, big oil, or the NRA. Instead, the campaign has been fueled by individual donations from supporters.
“I am running a grassroots campaign and I have committed to reject money from big oil and corporate PACs because I want to remain 100% accountable to the people in our district, not special interests,” Denney said. “Generous individual donations have helped us build a strong mobilization strategy and campaign infrastructure, which has far surpassed all other candidates.”
After opening a campaign headquarters in Chico, Denney’s campaign recently established an office in Redding, as well as six regional campaign hubs throughout the district.
